The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and will be able to meet, listen, and develop solutions for the community. The chosen City Manager is a team leader, but not a micro-manager. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in highly complex principles and practices of municipal administration; state and federal legislative processes and how those might benefit the organization; and current social, political, and economic trends and operating problems of a municipal government. An ability to work with regional partners to create partnerships that would benefit the City is vital, as is being a strong force driving solutions and partnerships for economic development.Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
• Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible managerial and administrative experience in a municipal government.
• A master's degree in public administration is preferred.
• A valid Texas driver's license (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment) is required.
